Nicky Hirsch understands that it is not always easy to talk about problems that are difficult, painful or confusing. Sometimes people need to speak in confidence to a professional.
If you feel you have too much to cope with, it might be time for you to talk to someone in addition to a friend, family member or colleague.
As a Humanistic counsellor, she believes the most important part of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. Establishing a good therapeutic relationship enables you to work together to explore thoughts, feelings and behaviours and to develop new insights and strategies.
Nicky's creativity is evident in her ability to adapt her way of working to your individual needs. Her approach is non-judgemental, patient and empathic.
Originally trained as a general nurse at The Middlesex Hospital and The Royal Marsden, she subsequently qualified as a mental health nurse at Guys Hospital, and worked at The York Clinic and The Cassel Hospital.
During a short career break when her children were young, Nicky continued her interest in all aspects of health and counselling by taking a short course with CRUSE she realised the importance of effective communication while working part-time at The Princess Alice Hospice.
